Sperry Rail Service has delivered the world’s leading rail flaw detection technology to Codelco – Chile Division El Teniente to help maintain the safety and reliability of Codelco’s mining operations in Rancagua. The Sperry 950 hi-rail platform delivered to Codelco is equipped with Sperry’s proprietary ultrasonic and vision system and was custom fit with additional safety components including Bombardier’s interflow 150 ATP control system and Amerex’s fire protection system with purple K dry chemical fire extinguishant. Sperry’s focused array of testing technologies and fit-for-purpose vehicle, trolley and walking stick platforms were reviewed by Codleco to select the exact equipment right for their mining application.
