Sperry outfitting fleet with GPS for world-wide road safety:
Sperry has been a pioneer in using GPS on its Rail Flaw Detection vehicles to ensure accurate location of defects. Now the Company has turned to the technology in its continued efforts to increase safety. All of Sperry’s fleet across the globe are being outfitted with Global Positioning Satellite equipment allowing the company to monitor all usage and speeds of the vehicles in service. Sperry recognizes that not only is it a top priority to provide safe equipment to its employees, but also that every Sperry customer requires “no accidents and no incidents” while we are on their property. Sperry Rail Service is supported in this effort by its parent company, Rockwood Service Corporation. As the largest NDT business in the world, the entire Rockwood fleet is being outfitted with GPS tracking equipment.
